I went to Porte de Vincennes the other day. The supermarket was under military protection so felt it wasn’t appropriate to take pictures since the military would probably refuse to be photographed. So, I waited until Shabbat to go back there.
It’s been almost a year and a half since those people were gunned down while running errands. At the time the place was swarming with cameras and police officers, and now people barely stop to glance at the little memorial that was set up to pay tribute to the deceased.
I’ve noticed a few people who still stop to take a look at the scene before departing, but most don’t even think about it anymore and just walk by, glancing only at their smartphones and wearing hear phones.
